4 Ways to Upgrade Your Backyard on a Budget This Summer
When you close your eyes and think of summer, what do you see? To us, the vision is clear; clear skies, clear pool (minus the flamingo floats), and a lot of relaxing and refreshments on the deck/patio. Whether you’re hanging by yourself, or you have the yard packed with family and friends, we all want the backyard to be the perfect setting for good times. After getting some opinions from our pool and patio team, here are our top ways you can upgrade your backyard on a budget this summer!
1. Refresh Your Garden
Some fresh, new flowers and greenery around the pool and/or patio can completely shift the energy in your backyard. We love seeing the grass and trees get healthy into the spring and summer, but it’s a huge boost to just add some color to your yard. Whether you want to add flowerpots around the pool, or set up a garden bed near your deck, this is an easy and accessible way to boost the backyard vibes quickly. And if you decide to get some artificial greenery to boost the mood, we’ll support it too!
Here are some realistic looks we like:
2. Get Some Stones into the Mix
If you like the idea of adding some color, but don’t want to plant flowers, you can get some decorative stones to spruce things up. This works great because they can border anything or just sit out in the open. They look awesome going around the pool, but you can also make a pathway in your yard as well. Take a look below at some designs we enjoy!
3. Lights, Lights, and More Lights
This trend has taken off the last few years, but incase you haven’t thought of this yet, setting up some string lights or solar lights for late night hangouts give the function a whole different feeling. What’s great about this is that there’s so many options to what you can do. Want some basic string lights around the patio? Sure. You’re feeling a pre-lit artificial palm tree in hopes to get some tropicality in the North country? Absolutely. There are options that bring the vacation feels to your backyard immediately. Here are our favorites:
4. Let There Be Fire… Pit
Another great looking but functional idea is creating a fire pit area. You can go modern with a matte black steel pit or a clean brick pit, or you can get some stone and build a perfectly imperfect pit like the one shown. Whatever style matches your backyard and your desires will be sure to bring the conversations and the relaxation right beside the flame.
