Poolside Drinks: Frozen Lemonade

Frozen Lemonade is a true summer drink staple. Who doesn’t love the sweet and tart combination of delicious lemonade in the summer? Packed with tons of vitamin C,  this refreshing beverage is the perfect go-to, and over crushed ice is the best way to serve it on the most humid days of the year.

Whether it’s poolside, with dinner on your patio table, or waiting for you after a long hike at your campsite this frozen drink recipe will be something look forward to. Share a pitcher with friends and family, so they can enjoy and cool down with a frozen treat too.

.1 Sliced lemon

.1 2/3 cups of superfine sugar

. 3 cups of cold water

. 1 1/4 cups lemon juice

. 4 cups of ice

Combine 1 thinly sliced lemon and 1 2/3 cups superfine sugar in a bowl; mash all ingredients with a spoon. Add 3 cups of ice-cold water and 1 1/4 cups lemon juice; let stand for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain all together.

Puree half of lemon juice mixture and 4 cups ice in a blender. Blend everything together until smooth. Pour into 4 chilled glasses, but preferably plastic cups for pool safety.

You can spice up your frozen lemonade with a garnish such as lemon slices, or strawberries. If you have a sweet tooth, feel free to add whipped cream for extra sweetness.

If you are looking for a delicious meal to pair with this drink, we suggest making it with Boneless pork ribs, chicken sandwiches or hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill.

A bendable silly straw or the classic red and white striped straw will add a fun twist for the kids to enjoy.
